Seduction, Play the Role

A man is often secretly oppressed by the role he has to play, always having to be responsible, in control, and rational. Always having to be the man that society has secretly embedded in us. Seducers use this to their advantage. They can create the ultimate male fantasy by offering a total release from the limitations of a man's life. Create a presence that is always heightened and sexually charged transporting the man to a world of pure pleasure. Seducers are dangerous, and have the ability to make a man lose control over himself. This of course is all a mirage, a way to lure men by cultivating a particular appearance and manner. In a world where women are often too timid to project such an image, learn to take control of the male libido by embodying his fantasy.

Falling Short

When I think about my criticism of other people, I'm disappointed to see how much of it could be more honestly laid bare as "be more like me." Or when I sit down to lay out a plan of action for someone, how conveniently the course aligns with my natural disposition. If I notice a flaw somewhere, I'm starting to think, and it happens to correspond with one of my own strengths maybe I ought to relinquish claims to judgment.

It's not pleasant to root out rationalization and subjectivity. You rob yourself of the right to indignation, an intoxicating position. Every time I dig around, I watch as the boxes I've trapped people in just disappear along with my superiority. The reality is that the smear of low level mediocrity never shines brighter than on a person unknowingly reacting to something inside them.

So the bold move when you encounter hypocrites may be ignoring the desire to dismiss them. The real question: would you really want to listen to someone whose moral philosophy was just as easily done as it was said?

P.S. Excellent essay Camila, you explained our economic crisis better than my current Econ professor can.

Barack Obama

To be quite honest, I'm not thrilled that Obama is president. He's a great speaker and a great motivator and was certainly a better candidate than McCain.

In looking at the Democratic platform, there are few things that I agree with, but on the economic side, other than being okay with raising rich people's taxes to 40 percent, there isn't a lot of economic policy that I don't agree on.

Having said that, having an elected black President will do more to energize this country than any economic or social policy ever could. In a single day of voting, our amazing country once again reinvigorated the dream that any child in this country, no matter what circumstances they are born into, can grow up to be anything they want, including President of the United States. This is the perfect example of if you work hard enough, you can make it all the way. The election of Barack Obama is a snap shot for those who could never participate in the American Dream. Did you see everyone on TV who were crying after they found out Barack won? A dream became a reality.

How do you stimulate and turn around the economy in this day and age? Motivate those who in the past couldn’t , wouldn’t or didn’t, into those who can and do. Motivate those who can and do, to continue to innovate and increase productivity.

As any successful CEO will tell you, leadership, vision and motivation has far more impact on results than any tax cut or increase. While I prefer lower taxes, I can tell you that no entrepreneur or CEO worth a damn in this country gives up or works less because of a change in tax policy. In this country you work harder to achieve your dreams and goals.

I can honestly say that I never thought that I would see a black President in my lifetime. I’m incredibly proud and excited to be part of this moment in history. I believe that the election of President Obama will energize many, many more of our fellow citizens to work harder to achieve our goals.

Virginia went Blue! That's crazy!
